Haven designs, permits, and builds ADUs in NYC and beyond. From zoning to move-in, we handle the hard parts so you don't have to.
This is all we do.
Haven was founded in 2022 by Danielle and Sevki, two architects trained at some of the world's leading architecture firms. ADUs were just beginning to be legalized on the East Coast, and the policy conversation needed people who understood both design and regulation. So we showed up.
We served on advisory boards for LISC, the Regional Plan Association, and the Center for Housing Opportunity in Connecticut, helping shape the ADU advocacy efforts that opened doors for homeowners across the region.
At the same time, we were on the ground. Running webinars, taking free consultation calls, and walking homeowners through the complex zoning rules that stood between them and a backyard home.
Building ADUs in New York City is a homecoming moment for us. This is the city we know, the regulatory landscape we've studied, and the housing challenge we've spent years working to solve. We're finally home.

Every Haven project follows the same disciplined process, designed to keep homeowners informed and on schedule.

Check eligibility.
Enter your address and we'll assess your lot against NYC's ADU zoning rules: setbacks, lot coverage, flood zones, and more.

Design & permits.
We adapt a Haven model to your backyard, prepare construction drawings, and file with the NYC Department of Buildings.

Build & deliver.
Your ADU is built and installed in your backyard over 8–12 weeks. Minimal disruption, maximum quality control.

Move in.
Final inspections, certificate of occupancy, keys in hand. Your new home is ready. For family, for tenants, or for you.
Where we build.
We work across the tri-state area, with active projects in New York City, the Hudson Valley, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Long Island. From urban backyards in Queens to larger lots in Westport, we design for the specific zoning and site conditions of each location.
A large, pre-vetted contractor network enables us to execute projects effectively throughout the region. Every crew we work with has been trained on our standards for craft and communication, so quality and timelines stay consistent whether we're building in Astoria or Greenwich.
